Website Visitors

Like most website operators, Zenphoto.org collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. Zenphoto.org's purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how Zenphoto.org's visitors use its website. From time to time, zenphoto.org may release non-personally-identifying information in the aggregate, e.g., by publishing a report on trends in the usage of its website.
Zenphoto.org also collects potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses. Zenphoto.org does not use such information to identify its visitors, however, and does not disclose such information, other than under the same circumstances that it uses and discloses personally-identifying information, as described below.

Gathering of Personally-Identifying Information

Certain visitors to Zenphoto.org's websites choose to interact with Zenphoto.org in ways that require Zenphoto.org to gather personally-identifying information. The amount and type of information that Zenphoto.org gathers depends on the nature of the interaction. For example, we ask visitors who use our forums or Trac ticket system to provide a username and email address. In each case, Zenphoto.org collects such information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of the visitor's interaction with Zenphoto.org. Zenphoto.org does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below. And visitors can always refuse to supply personally-identifying information, with the caveat that it may prevent them from engaging in certain website-related activities.

Aggregated Statistics

Zenphoto.org may collect statistics about the behavior of visitors to its websites. For instance, Zenphoto.org may reveal how many downloads a particular version go. However, Zenphoto.org does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below.

Protection of Certain Personally-Identifying Information

Zenphoto.org discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only to those of its employees, contractors, and affiliated organizations that (i) need to know that information in order to process it on Zenphoto.org's behalf or to provide services available at Zenphoto.org's websites, and (ii) that have agreed not to disclose it to others. Cookies

A cookie is a string of information that a website stores on a visitor's computer, and that the visitor's browser provides to the website each time the visitor returns. Zenphoto.org uses cookies to help Zenphoto.org identify and track visitors, their usage of Zenphoto.org website, and their website access preferences. Zenphoto.org visitors who do not wish to have cookies placed on their computers should set their browsers to refuse cookies before using Zenphoto.org's websites, with the drawback that certain features of Zenphoto.org's websites may not function properly without the aid of cookies.

Addition: Google Analytics / Adsense

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”).  Google Analytics uses “cookies”, which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyze how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States . Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage.  Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google's behalf. Also, Zenphoto.org uses Google Adsense service that places and reads cookies from vistors' browsers, or using web beacons to collect information in the course of ads being serverd to Zenphoto.org.

Addition II: Hosting/Sponsor ads

We don't allow any other user tracking advertisements on our site besides Google Analytics. All the ads you see on our hosting page, front page or other page's sidebar are pure images or html text linked to the advertiser's pages. All we do is count the clicks on these ads via JavaScript but that does not transfer any information from you besides the click. You can read about the conditions to advertise here:
