Yes. Changing the prefix is almost the same as using a new one.

Hello,
I made a test site using Zenphoto version 1.4.2.3 [9980] (Official Build) and zpFocus_ v1.4.2.2 and still had the same issues. So I deleted that database and created a new one using a different table prefix and for some reason it works now on the test site.
If I re-run setup for my "real" site and change the table prefix will I loose my data?

Also, I would like the random images to be drawn from a single album. This is the current code:
<?php
if (($zpfocus_showrandom) == 'single') { $sscount=1; } else { $sscount=5; }
if ((in_context(ZP_ALBUM)) || (in_context(ZP_IMAGE))) { $sstype = 'album'; $ssalbum = $_zp_current_album->getFolder(); $sstitle = gettext('Random Album Image'); } else { $sstype = 'all'; $sstitle = gettext('Random Gallery Image'); }
?>
What should I change to select images from a single album?
Thank-you. I appreciate your time!

Since we don't know the theme we can only suggest to try a standard one and add the random images function there to see if that works. If that does it is a theme issue most likely.

Hello,
I guess I'm missing something.
I deleted zpFocus_ v1.4.2.2 from my themes folder.
Then I deleted all entries associated with all versions of zpFocus in zp_options from my database. (Double checked).
Cleared my browser cache (Chrome).
Re-run setup and uploaded zpFocus_ v1.4.2.2.
It still would not display the random image in the left sidebar even though I set the options.
So, I repeated the process and used Michel Gagnon's suggestion with the same results.
The only other thing I can think of is that my original size images are only 200px and I do cache the full size image. The css to display the random images is {width:300px;height:300px;position:relative;display:none;}, but I'm not sure if that has anything to do with this at all.
Thank-you.

Just delete the associated entries.

That table contains ALL of the options you have set for Zenphoto, so clearing them all will cause you problems.

Hello,
I found the theme column in phpMyAdmin and the options are identified by the theme name. So to clear the database I should just delete all the associated entries? Thank-you for your time!

If nothing seems to work easily, modify slightly the original theme.

– Before uploading, modify the file
theme_description.php
and give it a new name by modifying the first line:

$theme_description['name'] = 'zpFocusOriginal'

– Upload the folder using a new name (ex.: zpFocusOriginal).

Of course, I tend to recommend the opposite: to copy and rename a theme that you want to modify, so it has it's own non-standard name.

Certainy there are theme options that would be remembered in the database. If those effect the appearance in the ways you observe then that would be the problem

You can manually delete those options. All should be identified by the theme name in the "theme" column. Of course if the theme stores its options "in the raw" that might not be the case. Then you would have to search for each individual option by name.

Thank-you for the replies. I have refreshed over and over...
The left sidebar is set up to display a random image. When I view page source the "list" of images is there, but nothing displays. All other original features work, except this. I have double checked all the theme options.
When I modified the theme before I removed this feature.
I also use an original version of zpFocus_ v1.4.2.2 with another install of Zenphoto version 1.4.2.3 with the same theme options and it works just fine. ?

Browser cache can be quite peristent. Try reloading several times.

Also the static html cache could be the reason, although I mean to remember that you don't use it.

Hello,
Zenphoto version 1.4.2.3 [9889] (Official Build)
I have been using theme: zpFocus_ v1.4.2.2 with many modifications.
Now I want to use the original, so I switched to a standard theme temporarily. I deleted theme: zpFocus_ v1.4.2.2 from my themes folder. Then re-uploaded the original package (several times).
The unmodified files are there, but when I activate it, my site still shows up with the modifications. I cleared my browser cache and even re-run set-up. Is there something stored in the database that "remembers" the changes to a theme? Thank-you for your time!

Current gallery theme: zpFocus_ v1.4.2.2
Hello, I was wondering if something changed in zpFocus_ v1.4.2.2? It seems the (Sort images by:) function and image sorting works on the backend, but the changes are not reflected when I view an album logged in or not.
I do not use the html cache plugin. I cleared the browser and album cache. Still the same results. This function worked with all previous versions of zpFocus. I also set the default image sort and the (Sort images by:) the same. Any suggestions would be appreciated. This function is an important part of my site.
Thank-you!

Hello, I am using:
Zenphoto version 1.4.2.3 [9889] (Official Build)
Current gallery theme: zpFocus_ v1.4.2.2
I just upgraded to the trunk nightly 4-20-2012.
I use Google Chrome and I did clear the browser cache.
My theme allows me to sort images by the functions on the backend.
(Sort images by:) function still does not work and either does image sort order when it is displayed. When I sort images for an album and save it, it is correct in the admin view, but not when it is displayed. Logged in or not.
As I said before it all worked for me as it should before I upgraded to:
Zenphoto version 1.4.2.3 [9803] (Official Build)
Gallery theme: zpFocus_ v1.4.2.2

I have just verified that this all works correnctly on the current trunk nightly build.

Some things that have been know in the past to cause this sort of problem:

HTML cache plugin.
Browser cache, specially with Internet Explorer.
Server/proxy caches.
Themes which set the sort manually.

I do not use the html cache plugin. I adjust the date (in the metadata) on the images before I upload them. That date is recorded for the images on the backend and is correctly displayed when not logged in. It seems that when I create a new album and set the (Display images by:) before I upload images the setting works and if changed it will reflect the changes. It doesn't work on existing albums with images. Even when I add new images to that album. For example I created an album a while ago without setting the date descending. Then yesterday I added new images with the current date. Changed the setting to date descending (actually tried all the choices), but that album will only display images the way they were set originally. I hope this doesn't sound too confusing. I have tested it with many pre-existing albums. Thank-you for your time!

If you use the html cache plugin you might need to clear it to see the effect (as loggedin admin you should see it direclty though). Did you look if your images have a date set? Note that the date from the metadata might have been used.

The "Display images by:" is only for the backend.

Hello, I am using:
Zenphoto version 1.4.2.3 [9803] (Official Build)
Current gallery theme: zpFocus_ v1.4.2.2
I usually set the (Sort images by:) function for my albums to Date Descending. It worked just fine in the previously released version of Zenphoto that I used, but now it seems that the function does not react to any change in the settings. (The setting saves when I change it.) I even tried to set the (Display images by:) function on the images tab the same as the album tab which did not affect the image sorting for the albums. Is this an issue that may have been resolved in a more recent build? Thank-you.
