We have opened a group for translators to inform you if we for example plan a new release so that the translations need to be updated or similar things regarding translations. Please sign in here: http://groups.google.com/group/zenphoto-translate

Look at the TRAC system (http://www.zenphoto.org/trac/report/9) for the languages and their current translation state. Also review the translation tutiorial (http://www.zenphoto.org/2008/05/translating-tutorial/). Also join the google group as indicated in this thread.

Then, if the language you wish to translate is not represented, create a ticket for the language and assign the ticket to yourself. If there is already a ticket, post your interest in participating on that ticket. This way all interested parties can work together on the translations.

Is there any way for me to know which language is more important or needs most help for translation? I speak several different languages and see at least two languages for which I can contribute. I want to contribute to the one which needs me most. If not, I'll just choose one. thx.

Probably the best thing would to post on the translators forum. Let them know which languages you are interested in. Otherwise, the convention is that the ticket version number is set to the version of zenphoto for which the translation was last done. So, if any of the languages you speak have not been updated to version 1.2.4, that would be a good choice.

Just to specify "translator forum" refers to our google translation group.

The group is not really for actual translation (that each translator has to do for himself) but for discussing related things like unclear terms or technical issues.

There will be no Hungarian translation if no one does one. As you can see here http://www.zenphoto.org/trac/ticket/643 it has not been maintained for over 18 months.

I rather doubt that it was a serious post. Anyone actually using Zenphoto would have to be blind not to notice that German is always included. I would guess that this poster is, indeed, blind as this post is of no use since no web link is allowed through.

I hope he is doing this for hire for someone and that source will notice the useless work he is doing and fire him immediately.
