Hi,
I am looking at having my gallery generated according to tags which seems possible when creating a gallery in "developer" mode. However what I am looking for, is when the web site visitors click on a specific tag it generates the gallery automaticly and jumps to the Thumbnails page...

First, please use the right terms. See the glossary on our user guide. We are talking about albums, not galleries.
Actually exactly what you describe happens if someone clicks on a tag. Then you see the search results as thumbnails. You should set your search options probably to only include image results.
You can also create dynamic albums which are basically searches. How to use these is described on the user guide.
